copy and paste clips

we are just starting to use QTractor, and already we are a bit confused about a very basic function...
How to copy and paste a clip.
We copied a clip (Ctl+C) and moved the cursor to another Track. There we paste (Ctl+V).
But...when we change one note in the copied clip or the original clip, the same note in the other clip changes with it!
Are these not independent clips? They behave like ghost copies...
And how can we copy and paste clips so that they become individual clips?

yes, pasted clips behave like ghost copies, or better said linked, as long they are on same MIDI track or same MIDI channel, and they are the same offset and length.

you can however do Clip > Unlink to make the current clip independent (unlinked) from its copies.

nb. on the very latest (v0.7.9), linked clips are shown with dashed outlines.

hth.
cheers
