export probs in 0.5.10

I'm running 0.5.10 under KXStudio and I don't seem to be able to export / mix down qtractor projects any more - not without using external apps, anyway!

I'm sure I used to be able to export my project by choosing Track -> Export Tracks -> Audio, after mixing any MIDI tracks down to audio tracks. What I think has changed within that export window is it now asks you to choose an output bus before it will export and choosing Master causes qtr to crash. Why should I need to create both a new bus and a new track to export my project? The file name and range options should suffice, surely?

So, I next tried exporting by creating a new stereo input (or duplux) buss, assigning that as the input bus to a mixdown track then routing qtractors master outs to the inputs of my mixdown buss. In doing this I get a track of silence so I ended up mixing down todays session by playing it in qtr and recording it in mhwaveedit! :(

hi Dan,

yes you now have to explicitly select which output bus you want to export from Track/Export Tracks... what is strange is that selecting one eg. Master makes it crash, something that i fail to reproduce at least once.

may you clarify in more detail what circumstances the crash seems to happen?

cheers

Hi RNCBC!

I managed to crash qtr by exporting my latest project at least twice in a row by doing the same thing yesterday but I cannot reproduce it any more and exporting is working again, you'll be happy to hear.

I had a bunch of pretty large files stored in the same dir as the previously problematic qtr project that weren't used in the session so I deleted or moved them before trying to reproduce the crash earlier and then the crash disappeared! I very much doubt my problem was caused by any of those extra files being present in the project dir so your guess is as good as mine as to what happened yesterday.

I have also updated my kernel since yesterday so maybe that was the cause? Dunno!

Is your vaction time over yet or does it continue? I hope it has been an enjoyable one!
