qtractor currently has two sets of transport shortcut bindings

I recently decided I wanted to change the default key binding that qtr uses for moving the playhead backwards to - instead of backspace. It was when I did this that I realised qtractor has two sets of keyboard bindings for controlling the transport: one set of transport bindings for main editor and another for the piano roll.

IMO the transport shortcuts need only be defined once and these choices should apply to both the main editor and the piano roll windows. Does anyone use different transport shortcuts in the piano roll vs the main editor? Why would you want to do that?

I thought I'd post this in the forums first instead of filing a bug report just in case I'm missing something? I'll gladly convert it into a bug report if need be.

Forums:

The same observation applies equally to all the grid/note snap values and a few other things too - basically any feature that is present in both qtr's main window and the piano roll doesn't need to have two separate sets of shortcuts. In fact, its better if these settings only had to be set once as it halves the work in setting up qtractor.

for bare technical reasons all that is going to stay as is. sorry.

otoh. imo. re. grid snap settings, those are definitely better separated in 2-level contexts: one for the main track (macro) view and the other for the (micro) detail editing view as are piano-rolls. to ease your life, those settings are implicitly persistent across sessions.

so. it's all not quite bugs. really--and actually--it's a design feature ;)

cheers

OK. I don't think its one of qtr's best features but I can live with it and I can prob avoid those extra few minutes config (when setting up qtr on a new install) by copying the config files over, if I was really keen to avoid these extensive (multi-minute!) key-binding ordeals you make us suffer! ;)

Please excuse my continual nit picking. I can't see it stopping just yet and, besides, I have a rep to maintain!

Thanks Rui!

np. all nitpicks are welcome.

it's just that some may clash on technical barriers, which is the case at hand, while others are may just be a question of taste...

nm.
cheers
