Vee One Suite 0.9.3 - An Autumn'18 Release

Hi everyone!

The Vee One Suite of so called old-school software instruments, synthv1, as a polyphonic subtractive synthesizer, samplv1, a polyphonic sampler synthesizer, drumkv1 as yet another drum-kit sampler and padthv1 as a polyphonic additive synthesizer, are now all out for the septentrional Autumn'18.

All available in dual standard forms:

  • a pure stand-alone JACK client with JACK-session, NSM (Non Session management) and both JACK MIDI and ALSA MIDI input support;
  • a LV2 instrument plug-in.

Where applicable, the common change-log for this Fall goes like this:

  • For safety reasons, all processing is now suspended while loading presets or program changes are issued.
  • AppStream metadata updated to be the most compliant with latest freedesktop.org specification and recommendation.
  • SIGTERM (and SIGINT) signal handler added to close the JACK stand-alone client applications properly.
  • Make the GUI not to show initially on NSM.
  • Current element sample offset/loop start/end parameters automation is now a possibility, on the LV2 plug-in only (applies to samplv1 and drumkv1 only).
  • Make NSM state independent to session display name, keeping backward compatibility for old sessions.
  • Give some more slack to schedule/worker thread ring-buffer.

The Vee One Suite are free, open-source Linux Audio software, distributed under the terms of the GNU General Public License (GPL) version 2 or later.

Let the rain come down!

Qsynth 0.5.3 - An Autumn'18 Release

Hello?

Do you remember? Should have been (back in) September, ... well, whatever...

FluidSynth V2 is in there now, rejoice!

Qsynth 0.5.3 (autumn'18) is now released!

QjackCtl 0.5.4 - An Early Autumn'18 Release

That's it!

QjackCtl 0.5.4 (early-autumn'18) is out!

QjackCtl is a(n ageing but still modern, maybe not so simple anymore) Qt application to control the JACK sound server, for the Linux Audio infrastructure.

Change-log:

  • Graph port-type colors are now configurable (cf. menu View > Colors...).
  • Make Graph nodes (ie. client boxes) transparent for yet some eye-candiness ;). Also keep the (Graph) current selection across port (dis)connections.
  • Drawing patchbay connector lines as (bezier) curves is now a difinitive and fixed feature (as long as no moreremains from the so called "Cambric explosion era" are still lurking in there).
  • AppStream metadata updated to be the most compliant with latest freedesktop.org specification and recommendation.
  • Graph auto-layout improvement for brand new node clients.
  • Avoid showing setup warning when no server settings have changed.
  • Fixed JACK D-Bus settings for MIDI driver parameter.

Qtractor 0.9.2 - The Summer'18 Release

At last!

Qtractor 0.9.2 (summer'18 beta) is released!

Not much has changed but here's the change-log:

  • AppData/AppStream metadata is now settled under an all permissive license (FSFAP); also updated to be the most compliant with latest freedesktop.org specification and recommendation.
  • Fix build for Qt >= 5.11.0 (by David Geiger, thanks); also for some g++ >= 8.1.1 warnings and quietness.

Description:

Qtractor is an audio/MIDI multi-track sequencer application written in C++ with the Qt framework. Target platform is Linux, where the Jack Audio Connection Kit (JACK) for audio and the Advanced Linux Sound Architecture (ALSA) for MIDI are the main infrastructures to evolve as a fairly-featured Linux desktop audio workstation GUI, specially dedicated to the personal home-studio.

Vee One Suite 0.9.2 - A Summer'18 Release

Awe!

The Vee One Suite of so called old-school software instruments, synthv1, as a polyphonic subtractive synthesizer, samplv1, a polyphonic sampler synthesizer, drumkv1 as yet another drum-kit sampler and padthv1 as a polyphonic additive synthesizer, are here released for the northern Summer'18.

All available in dual standard forms:

  • a pure stand-alone JACK client with JACK-session, NSM (Non Session management) and both JACK MIDI and ALSA MIDI input support;
  • a LV2 instrument plug-in.
  • The mostly common change-log for the hot-season is as follows:

    • Frame-time display format option added to new offset, loop-start and loop-end spin-boxes. (applies to samplv1 and also partially to drumkv1)
    • Sample start point (offset) added as a brand new property parameter. (samplv1 and drumkv1 only)
    • Add LV2 UI Resize extension data support.
    • Process MIDI Controlllers even though the channel filter is on (DEF Channel is set anything but "Omni").
    • AppData/AppStream metadata is now settled under an all permisssive license (FSFAP).

Also, let it be known here, that there are a few and notable contributions currently evolving on the user documentation area, as follows:

Please help if you can ;)
