Thanks!!!
PS
Now that there is an efficient way to locate clips, it makes sense to take a moment while working to rename them appropriately.
However, the name does not update in the session list until the session is reopened.
I don't know if implementing that update would be simple.

re. What kind of madness is this?...
glad you noticed ;)
brand new View > Session List is posed as a session overview or outline, that got polished from dead old code into something actually very nice to the masses, thanks to a very polite and competent AIgent
ofc this will open a lot of cans of worms... np. now that is over but not forgotten, call it summer madness yay!
cheers
Just a quick report (new session list)
The bugs I’ve found so far:
1_ Changing an element's properties (renaming a clip, track, or bus; changing the number of channels on buses, etc.) does not update the list; the changes aren't reflected visually, though internally they seem to have taken effect. In other words, the system can still locate the clip, track, or bus using its new name, even though the old name still appears in the list...
2_ Closing or opening the window via the toolbar does not update the list's status.
3_ Closing the window using its close button [x] does update the list's status. However, the toolbar button remains active, as if the window were still open.
Creating new elements, or cutting and pasting an element work, does update the list.
re. Just a quick report (new session list)...
yes, acknowledged...
all of that are maybe caveats, not really bugs in their own sense... perhaps...
hit F5 for the rescue?;)UPDATE: v1.6.4.18git.6b9991 might do it all now, thanks.
re.1 Just a quick report... Now Work!!!
It’s really impressive.
Now we can access any element precisely and instantly, without having to scroll around or open multiple windows.
If a clip is hidden beneath another, it’s easy to access without needing to drag and drop repeatedly or develop a hypothetical layer system in the sequencer that would take up extra space.
On top of that, it paves the way for new, highly requested features—such as the ability to hide or show specific tracks and buses.
Then there’s the "feel" of it. It might seem trivial, but with this feature, Qtractor feels more solid and powerful... I can't quite describe it—it’s just a feeling—but it’s definitely there.
Thanks
