I would have preferred AutoConnect to be enabled by default.
However, I'm not going to complain; I don't know the reasons, but they're probably good :).

I just realized that the pseudo plugins are loaded disabled in the rack, while the plugins are enabled.

I guess it's been like this for a long time, and I've been enabling them without realizing it... for a long time.
