yeah, it would be very cool indeed...

however the coolness stops when you'll need to specify a lot of variable stuff to make it barely feasible: you'll need a host, a port, a path, a value type and range and/or a scale conversion method (curve), and possibly more, for each instance...

while for MIDI controllers case, the representation, semantics and all of the above is quite well formed, fixed and rigid, for OSC it's too loose and unfettered to be specified in so simple terms: it's a jungle out there, each target subject (ie. the OSC receiver) makes its own laws...
