New VTQs5.6 for New Qtractor 1.5.5
The main change is a license change for G3N-es themes.
They are now CC0 (Public Domain).
Reasons:
- The previous license falls within the scope of software, and a VTQ is not really software.
- Making it as permissive as possible to make it easier for anyone who wants to modify and distribute their modifications without having to credit the original author. It's not that the credit isn't appreciated; it's that for derivative works of other derivative works... the documentation effort can be immense and counterproductive.
- To guarantee the "public domain," all icons have been reviewed and redesigned if there was certainty or suspicion that they may have been created based on other pre-designed icons by third parties.
For its part, Tecnico VTQ has improved by correcting or creating new symbols for those icons that presented ambiguous or conflicting legibility.

Available for download soon
After applying Skeuomorphism polish and fine 280-grit sandpaper, this is how Tecnico update looks. A large investment has been made in orange LED screens and pro faders. I hope it was worth it.

Quite nice.
Quite nice.
Investigating the possibilities of the "selected" state
For the next Tecnico version, I'm going to use the selected state I requested a few versions ago.
Anyone with an older version of Qtractor... please update :)
That looks (and feels)…
That looks (and feels) awesome!
re. That looks (and feels)…
The theme update is now available for download, adding mixer states and using image textures for backgrounds.
In case you want to have a look :)
PS:
For the MIDI editor, I borrowed your idea of differentiating the background of the event editor from the note editor.
I think it was a good idea.
G3N-es, I'm going to check…
G3N-es,
I'm going to check out the new goodness today. Going forward, you may want to consider structuring your .zip files in a single, appropriately named directory, so everything doesn't explode when unzipped. As of now, unzipping VTQs_5.8.zip results in all the directories and README.md being written to the PWD. It'd be much cleaner if all those things lived in a directory called VTQs_5.8 (for example). That way, the end user isn't at risk of clobbering existing bits making it easier to switch back to an older version if needed.
All the best
I'll keep this in mind if there's a next version
By the way... I think your MIDI controller's cable and/or connectors are damaged. At least that's what happened to me, with these symptoms: https://github.com/rncbc/qtractor/issues/506
