just to let you all know, after years in uber-procrastination, OSC (Open Sound Control) support has been finally introduced.
similar to keyboard and MIDI controller shortcuts, it allows the discrete mapping of OSC handlers to any main menu command actions (cf. View/Options.../OSC)

Either way, it sounds exciting
I don't know if I'll ever use it, but OSC is definitely a standard and Qtractor starting to support it sounds great, and very promising for users in general.

nb. oscsend is provided by liblo but you can use any other OSC client of your preference, if you know how ;)

I just realized the potential of this.
Now, for example, we can create custom toolbars for Qtractor using launchers on desktop panels.
Or customize desktop keyboard shortcuts to control Qtractor.
The lack of access to the metronome from the MIDI editor is now easily solved.
