Plugin latency compensation

What happens when I select "Plugin latency compensation" in one track?
- Qtractor asks the loaded plugins in this track for their latency?
- Qtractor delays all other tracks' audio (not MIDI) by this amount?
- If there's another track with "Plugin latency compensation" enabled then the maximum of all tracks' latency minus own latency is used?

Wouldn't it be good to enable this on all tracks if it's enabled on one track?
What about a general parm that sets the default in View/Options/Plugins?

hi, in fact it's all quite the opposite:)
- each plugin must report their latency alone;
- qtractor compensates for for the total reported latency of all plugins inserted on that track and only (not others); the compensating track is played-back ahead or in advance (ie. the opposite of delaying other tracks;
- compensation is applied on a per-track basis, so tracks with different total plugin chain latencies get played pack in advance independently to other tracks.
