I think what you're referring to is being able to send a signal from one output bus to another output bus in post-fader mode, meaning without losing the fader functionality.

It only works if you're on Pipewire. I hope this [xcopyinbuf] branch isn't implemented in the official version, because it doesn't work there.

Place an insert on the destination bus. Connect the source bus output to the destination insert.
It's not recommended... but it's a trick that works.
