The reason: The crossover occurs above or below the average volume, resulting in a pumping effect, a change in the average volume during the transition.
It's true what @bluebell pointed out; you have to manually edit them to convert them to linear 90% of the time.
It doesn't happen with Debian Bookworm's Qt 6.4.2, but with my other machine's Qt 6.4.2,although the Qt versions are identical. The other machine's fonts seem to be displayed a bit wider although I have the same dpi setting.
Can you add a little bit more space, please see screenshot?
re. Audio clips: Set default fade in / fade out... curve
why linear?
a quadratic or cubic curve are way better approaches to a logarithmic slope (ie. dB-wise) that best follows a constant (linear) volume fade slider.
is that really an urgent request?
cheers
For fades, logarithmic is…
For fades, logarithmic is better.
But it's not suitable for crossfades.

It becomes a tedious task.
It's not urgent because I can
It's not urgent because I can always set the curves manually.
While working on a remix I noticed that crossfades are smoother when using linear curves.
re. Set default fade in / fade out...
now in qtractor >= 1.5.9.2git.c5faa7
nb. not only to Audio clips but for MIDI clips too ;)
cheers
font is bold
In difference to the dialog in the audio clip properties and others the font is bold, should be regular.
re. font is bold...
fixed in qtractor >= 1.5.9.6git.9439da
thanks
maybe a pixel more space?

But it won't kill me if you cannot :)
Very cool
Thanks, Rui. Will test it.
Works as expected
Doesn't touch already selected curves in existing clips. Good job.
I needed it yesterday
I have it today.
Thank you so much, Rui. :)
