Hello everybody,
I have just started recording piano MIDI tracks on Qtractor by:
a) recording a clip
b) playing the clip and recording the next bit
c) playing the last clip and recording another bit and so on
d) once I'm finished, I merge the clips into a single track
My doubts regard the sustain pedal behavior.
If I finish recording one clip with the pedal in one position (either up or down) and start the recording of the next clip (which at times partially overlaps) with the pedal in a different position, how does this affect both playback and final MIDI values after the merging?
I would appreciate it if someone with more experience in Qtractor could clarify this aspect.

re: Pedal behavior in clip recording
As Pedal Down and Pedal Up are single events, there is no problem if you have some discipline and know what you're playing. If the clips overlap and the 2nd clip has a Pedal Up event in the beginning then it might silence notes from the 1st clip.
The MIDI clip editor lets you edit Pedal events, too, so you can delete, add or shift those events after recording.
