CALF Fluidsynth

Hiya Rui!

When I add CALF Fluidsynth DSSI and activate it, Qtractor crashes. When I add CALF Fluidsynth LV2, there is no crash, but Fluidsynth does not play.

I noticed that Fluidsynth is the only in the CALF list which is not RT. It works fine outside Qtractor. Can FLuidsynth somehow be used within Qtractor?

Gotta check out this CALF Fluidsynth plugins myself.

Are those actually released or are you having those from Krzysztof's git repository? Meanwhile, fluidsynth-dssi (the original) might be a good alternative--it's been working fine for years now ;)

[UPDATE:] In a hurry and from todays git, I do get the very same results as you. CALF Fluidsynth DSSI crashes on activation (inside plugin code path, seen on gdb) and the LV2 does not produce any sound even though there's a very well known soundfont being loaded. One other thing, I confess I don't grok the GUI that well or at all, specially the preset or patch settings. Do you? :)

Byee

Yeah, LV2 version has some numbers instead of presets. Maybe this is the git thing, gotta contact kfoltman about this on IRC.

I got the Calf Fluidsynth working great in Qtractor but I can't change the sample rate like I can in QSynth....
any hope of a Qsynth DSSI plugin??

Don't be contempt with just one (calf fluidsynth, either DSSI or LV2); stress the beasts out with plenty ;) taste the wrath, then rejoin to tell your story :)

Cheers

Hi Rui,

just to let you konw,
I tried to use Qtractor for the last months, quite successfully I must say. Everything went ok until I did a complete reinstall - Ubuntu 10.40 as before - and now I am unable to reopen the files I recorded with Qtractor (previous version, or the same??!!) in this new install. Too bad...
I can open the files, I can see the tracks, but there are no sound waves visible and no sound. When I click on the .ogg files outside Qtractor, I can hear the recordings nevertheless.

That's it! But I must say I decided to go back to Ardour now in order avoid futur inconveniences like theses...

bye

The audio files must be located in the vary same path and directory names where they were recorded or imported into the Qtractor session. You said you installed a fresh system, so it might be a change some directory path name have changed or simply does not exist in the new system.

Open up the session file (.qtr) on a text file editor and check all the filenames. You can either move the missing files to the older location or rename all the missing or non existing paths in the .qtr file.

Cheers
