Feature Request: Greater control over slider step values in mixer

Scroll wheel behavior is somewhat inconsistent inside a given mixer strip. With panning, we step in either direction + or - 1. The panning is consistent across strips of type track and buss. Cool.

Buss gain sliders move up or down 4db. That seems like a lot. Can this step value be changed to 1db? For finer control in either direction, I'd almost expect the step value to become smaller (.1) when a control key is held during the scroll. That seems to be a common UI pattern in enough wares now (though of course, I can't remember a single reference ATM).

I know you'll tell me to restore the up/down arrows I've shunned but...... I don't think I can bring myself to do that :)

Of course, i also realize my request could impose some disruption to other peoples workflows. Wouldn't want that of course but the step value itself could make for a worthwhile user configuration option. That would ensure backwards compatibility for those expecting to move 4db in either direction should they want that.
