QJackCtl 0.3.8svn700 issues

Dear Rui,
on my system (xubuntu 10.04 32bit) the latest "qjackctl 0.3.8svn700" compiles fine, starts but doesn't connect to jackd in any possible setting, whereas the one version immediatly published before (it is "qjackctl 0.3.7.16svn698") works great on the same system.
But I guess you already work on a remedy ;-)

can you show some evidence of what is that "starts but doesn't connect to jackd in any possible setting" ? is there any error messages you find suspect?
there's nothing, and stress that nothing, that differs from qjackctl 0.3.7.16svn698 to qjackctl 0.3.8svn700 whatsoever--it's exactly the same code. only packaging related stuff has changed and very so slightly (version tags and change logs).

You are correct, of course!
I deinstalled, recompiled "qjackctl svn800" and it works fine as ever. Maybe I was fooled by some user access rights, so please excuse my nuisance.
