Qjackctl install on OS X

Hi, I know that this is a linux forum but I couldn't think where else to post this. I compiled qjackctl on OS X 10.6.8 and everything seems to be in order. The Server will start, and other applications will recognise that Jack is running, but after about a minute it stops and a popup window informs me that: "Could not connect to JACK server as client.- Overall operation failed. Please check the messages window for more info." Furthermore, the connections window does not give me a list of available clients. It is empty, even when jackrouter is selected as an output in another application. I am using jack1 and the start command
usr/local/bin/jackd

Can anyone suggest something to help here? The output from the messages window is as follows:

i may suggest you to try jack2 instead -- it was originally the basis for former JackOSX IIRC, so it might behave differently.

anyways, as far i'm concerned, the same still applies as of this older thread. hth.

cheers
