Ok I will try to explain my problem again. If you set some locators up say for 4 bars, and press record to record some midi from the piano or keyboard as it's recording first time around you see the notes absolutely fine in between the locators. As soon as the locators cycle around again for the second pass ( still in record mode ) when I play some more notes your original notes don't seem to be there. When I press stop the clip is now outside of the locators (to the right side of them)......and my original notes don't seem to be there.

I need to play around with this - with punch in / out / check the quantise function......but the bottom line is I just want to loop a few bars and keep adding bits n bobs.......and I can't seem to do this. Sorry if this is just me...........I don't know whatever sequencer I use there always seems to be something about the looping between points that doesn't seem to go well for me!

Also on another note I do find it does stop project flow a bit when you have to keep naming a clip before you record.....is there a way of stopping this so I don't have to keep reverting back to the qwerty keyboard every time I record? It is off putting when you just want to jam around........

I'll say it again it's amazing you've done this as one person. Qtractor really does feel stable and nice.....it is like the best bits of Acid and Cubase......on the best os.

It would be nice to have an explorer on the left side of the window (so you can drag midi clips in to the right- perhaps that's possible already...need to play around with it some more.)

I often think to myself when using sequencers 'wouldn't it be great if this sequencer had it's own built in sound module/engine that's integrated....something that has a good sound library and effects, multitimbral and filters.....something you could just fire up the sequencer and off you go......that's why Linux Sampler looks so promising......it would be great if it were integrated as one - so flexible.
I can't face going back to windows anymore to make music. You are our only hope Obi One...........
