I've simply adapted it to the color code and graphics of my theme.
There is a difference. Mine allows you to see the new node as it's being created.
I think this gives the user a greater sense of precision and control. But it's just psychological.

Speaking of icons, I've always thought the Vee One Suite logos were great.
