Hi everyone,
I apologise, but I am unable to understand how aux buses work:
once I have created the buses, added effects and connected the tracks to the aux buses, how do I reconnect the aux output to the main master output? I tried using routing (connecting the aux outputs to the master inputs), but something is not working.
In other words, how do I merge the master and the various aux buses together during the final rendering if the routing I described above doesn't work?
Thank you very much, have a nice day.
With aux, too
Don't connect the output of the bus, use an aux send to the master bus. That works reliably and adds no latency.
Bus' outputs and inputs are for connecting external programs or hardware.
thanks a lot!
thanks a lot!
Don't use "export tracks" for the final render
Also note that you should not use the export option for the final render. As it is not designed for that (at least for now) but to export individual buses. It also does not take into account AuxSends between buses.
In Qtractor, the reliable way to export a final render is to record in real time to an external recorder such as Audacity, Cadence-render, or other software. Another way is to create a dedicated export bus and track within the project and record to the system monitor when you play the project (just make sure that only the project's audio plays on your system).
Ultimately, this is the most reliable way to render, as you record exactly what you hear. This applies to Qtractor and any DAW.
This wiki article covers all of these topics:

re. Don't use "export tracks" for the final render...
nb. just a heads up: the article is also on official doc:
