Is there a controller track that can change midi channels (1-16) in the piano roll/controller editor?
My goal is to use the Calf Fluidsynth plug-in as a platform to hold up to 16 presets that can be accessed at a note level via midi channel switch automation.

i'm afraid to say... nop.
MIDI channel (or address) is a static property of a MIDI track, which hold its own preset (bank/program) and that's all quite engraved in stone, sorry!
However you may insert the calf-fluidsynth on a MIDI output bus, so that all tracks/channels will converge throught it, and thus take advantage of it's allegedly multi-tmbrality as featured in SF2 spec.
