Bug in Clip > Merge?

Hi all. I have either found a bug or don't understand a feature, I'm not sure which ;)

If I have an arbitrary number of audio clips in a track, and I select them all and do a right-click > Clip > Merge, the merge seems to work correctly, but it will change a mono track to stereo with both channels containing the original mono signal. Not the end of the world, but it makes more sense to leave all-mono tracks with a merged mono clip, yes?

While on the topic, is there a function within Qtractor that would allow me to break that down into mono track(s) again?

Clip > Merge (and Export) will convert one or more selected clips into a single audio file that will have the same number of channels as the designated track's output bus, precisely.

to convert into a mono clip (or file), please assign the audio track to a mono output bus (mono=1 channel).

so not a bug, it's a day-one feature in qtractor :)
cheers
