1-How can I adjust the resolution in the clip editor ?
Well, it's not quite called resolution, at least I don't call it that way but something like snap-to-grid or as in qtractor parlance, snap-to-beat (nb. a beat is nothing less nor more than a standard score quarter-note time division or duration).

Anyway, look at the MIDI toolbar and there's this drop-down list-box (aka combo-box) where it reads "Beat/4" by default. That's the current snap-to-grid/beat resolution setting, so to speak, that meaning all your editing operations will be snapped (quantized) to a virtual grid with that time division (resolution as you wish?). If, for example, you click on the piano-roll canvas while in edit mode (Edit/Select Mode/Edit On = Pencil button) then a note event will be created with an onset time and duration which fits precisely in that grid division. It also means that you're effectively filling in the blanks, the blanks being the virtual grid cells ;)

I believe that's the answer for what you're asking. You tell me if it's not.

2-Is there a way to have the said clip editor always visible on screen, one editor at a time ?
That was the case when you turn View/options../Display/Keep tool windows always on top on, which the MIDI clip editor used to be. Alas, not anymore. That means that you now have to grasp your window manager usefulness (WM) when each piano-roll window gets behind any other one. Me, for instance, take it for granted from the kwin taskbar or desktop/activity pager (KDE's WM; and isn't it the same on Mandriva? it used to:) to recall any of the currently overlapped/hidden windows. Is that about it?

Cheers
