pure crazyness - seperate the MIDI from audio?

I've been lamenting (read: bitching) about the state of MIDI in linux, there are few really good piano-roll style MIDI sequencing applications. I wanted to spend a little time this week playing with qtractor as a MIDI-only thing, and started it up. Of course jack isn't running, and it immediately starts to complain.

Is there any way to start qtractor with all of the audio pieces disabled? It's a silly question I know, but I don't need the audio stuff at all right now, but I really need the MIDI.

Thanks Rui!!! :)

Re: seperate the MIDI from audio?

I am sorry but no. Qtractor is hardwired to JACK which technically serves as master coordinator of all things here. But I would ask why you don't or can't have jackd running smooth?

Cheers
