ok. i'll suggest you take some time and starting with one of those older session files that freeze on load in 0.5.9, try this carefully, one step at a time:

  1. open (old) session on old qtractor version; remove one plugin, one clip or a track on each step, and then save as different filename; be careful to annotate which filename it is and what particular element was removed; start with removing one plugin at a time, then a clip; and only when a track is empty you shall remove it on that particular trial step.
  2. try opening the session file you last saved on 1. and check whether it freezes on load while on latest qtractor 0.5.9; if it still freezes, as you say, kill it and proceed onto next trial, having this session file as step base; if not, then check which item did you remove last time on previous step and start over from scratch, starting from the very original session file but now you'll remove that suspicious item and only.

repeat until you get a sane, non-freezing and loadable session file on the newest 0.5.9+ and a bare minimal list of potential culprits :)

yes, it's good old trial and error methodology, for which some dose of patience will be needed. take your time please.

hth.
