I was wondering why my ALSA device was not listed in qjackctl

I can clearly see it in alsa, but it does not appear as I try to add it in the patch bay

arecord -l

Hi,

when using jackmidi with a2jmidid, the names of midi controllers contain a number enclosed in square brackets which changes when using a different usb port or plugging devices in a different order. This leads to the patchbay not autoconnecting. Is there a way to use wildcards in the device name to circumvent this problem or are there any other means to get this working?

I would like to learn about sessions in QJackCtl.
My first case of use would be as follow:

Midi Keyboard (usb) -> Qsynth

I am able to connect all manually without problem but some automation for this (and other cases) would be welcome (just leveling up).
I can see that Qsynth appears in client/port section but fluidsynth and the midi keyboard doesn't so I am kind of lost there.

Any feedback or link would be appreciated.

hey guys, I am completely new here, a user from china came here finally, crossing all the difficulties and still having troubles on compiling qjackctl 0.6.0 window version......

Is it possible to use dark themes with the appimage instances of Qjackctl (or the vee-one plugins, Qsampler, etc.)? I always see these screenshots with the darker colors, and I have a darker theme on my desktop environment (Lubuntu 18.04). But these color settings don't seem to translate into the appimage versions like they do with the older distribution installs.

Not a big deal... just cosmetic... A "1st world problem" as the saying goes.

Every time when I run Google Earth, QjackCtl begins red xrun flashing.

One or more XRUN's are counted. What events these are and what's wrong?

Latest Linux Mint. 64bit
QjackCtl Version: 0.4.5
Google Earth PRO v. 7.3.2.5776 (64-bit)

Using a few Worlde Easy Control controllers, and there seems to be some difficulty registering them all in qjackctl.
Seems like it wants to see them all as the same device and gets confused wrt routing for each unit. Is there a way to make each unit appear individually for connection-adding, instead of one entry for all same-named devices? Client/Port alias options in display preferences appear to have no effect. Recently, I purchased a MOD DUO pedal--not necessarily for recording, but apparently by using netJACK, the pedal can output audio over a network and directly into an audio sequencer. This is a preferred routing method for tracking using the device given latency issues recording through the box and into a soundcard: i.e., two instances of ADC-->DAC.

I am trying to use session saving functionality in qjacktl 0.4.5. When saving an existing session of hydrogen 0.9.7, the song I'm working on is automatically determined, but only the name of the file in which it is located is saved (see 1_qjackctl_session.png).

When loading this session, hydrogen does not find a song just by the file name (see 2_hydrogen_song_not_found.png), it needs the full path to it (see 3_hydrohen_success.png).

How can I save a session in qjackctl so that when I load session hydrogen find a song and open it?

Up until the recent qjackctl update everything worked correctly. After the update to Version: 0.5.5, qjackctl no longer autostarts with a reboot and login. After I login, I go to launch qjackctl and it does start, but it also starts jack as well, which is odd because I don't have Start JACK audio server on application start selected.

Once qjackctl is started I go to Setup/Misc and the following options are greyed out:

Enable System tray icon
Show system tray message on close
Start minimized to system tray
